What to Do at Home in Quarantine

I've never wanted to write my first post on 'What to do at Home' or 'What to do at home in quarantine' or anything related to Coronavirus. However, here we are thanks to Covid-19. :)

It's been more than a month to be in Lockdown and I'm sure many of you are in the same (bad) situation. During the lockdown, we need to motivate ourselves and look at the good side of this pandemic. Probably most of us are working so hard or we had a hectic work life and now we're sitting at our homes and spending our time without knowing what to do or spending the whole day in front of the tv or the computer. To be honest, my first month in lockdown was pretty close to this and in order to avoid it, I found nice things to do on my own or with my boyfriend and now I'll share my recommendations on what to do at home.

1 - Create Your Daily Quarantine Routine

Quarantine doesn't mean that we can lay down all-day. I'm sure you have created a daily routine for yourself during the lockdown, in case you didn't so far, I assure you won't ever have enough time to do the things you want to do. So, before becoming a couch potato and ending this lockdown without nothing, create your new daily routine. I always plan my days and weeks ahead.

2 - IMDB Top 250 Films

I know you stick to Netflix too much these days, me too! But I realized that I spent so many times on Netflix watching the series and as the first thing to do, I decided to watch 1 film every day. I couldn't do it all the time but I watched very nice films last month and now I'm following a new path this month by starting to watch IMDB's top film lists.
I highly recommend you glance at the list and watch the ones you haven't so far. So that you won't waste your time watching bad films.

3 - Read Books

I know again you read books which is good but I recommend you to analyze the best seller books or best books from a topic you're interested in. You can visit Amazon's bestseller listWaterstone's lists, or other platforms. Look at also customer's reviews about the books. Besides popular books, please try to add world classics to your list too.

Tips: if you have a list of books to get, you should keep an eye on Amazon's Today's deals. You may find your favorite book there for only £1. I bought 2 books last week. :)

4 -  Play Games

One of the best things to do is playing games. Whether play computer games or box games, play something that is enjoyable for you. I recommend you to start this with a Puzzle. I love Puzzles. When I sit down to solve a puzzle I'm always lost in time. Uno is also another choice to play with your family. But Sims is the best game ever! Whether Sims 3 or 4, play which one you like. ( I'm a huge fan of Sims 3 btw :) )

5 - Educate yourself

You may have been dreaming about learning a new language, learning a new skill that becomes your job, or supports your job for a while. There is a wide range of online education websites such as Udemy, Coursera, Alison etc. Even Youtube is one of the best online platforms you can learn anything for free. My favorite is Udemy. You can find many courses at affordable prices or free.

6 - Home Work Out

We shouldn't think to live without moving all day because we're in isolation. We're cooking nice foods, watching nice films, eating lots of snacks. We do all of them by sitting and we're becoming open to gain weight. That's why we have to move. Fortunatelly we're allowed to go out for daily exercise once a day in the UK. So use it paying attention to social distancing or stay home and do your workout at home through Youtube or Workout apps on your phone like Nike Training Club, Aaptiv etc. You can also buy sports equipment and clothes to motivate yourself.

7 - Gardening or Planting

If you have a garden, the weather helps you guys! We're experiencing very hot weather lately in the UK. So benefit from this weather and lockdown, focus on gardening. Clean your garden, plant new flowers or vegetables, buy new stuff to decorate your garden for the next summer days ahead. If you don't have a garden, no prob. All you need to get a couple of pots with the plants' seeds and soil. That's it! You can decorate your room with your new plants. That will make you feel so relaxed and peaceful.

8 - Buy a Cookbook

I don't like cooking.  Nevertheless, cooking is essential for everyone. Another thing to do at home.
I tried different recipes last month, I really enjoyed while doing that. To learn new recipes makes cooking more fun, I decided to buy a cookbook and try each recipe every day (Julie & Julia inspired me about this) You can do the same thing with me and share your recipes here! :)

9 - What is your hobby?

Everybody has at least a hobby and probably more than one. As we have to stay home, these are very limited now. So it's time to find your hobby or hobbies and start doing them. I started to learn knitting. I also interested in blogging, solving puzzle etc. I'm glad to find time to do them finally.

10 - Keep a Journal

If you haven't started to keep a journal yet, it's the ideal time for it now. We're so worried recently, you may not know what to do or how to deal with the virus or self-isolation. Or we may feel better than before, more grateful maybe. So start writing about what you feel, what you think in your journal. Touch your emotions and thoughts on paper. This is one of the most important things to do in quarantine. I'd like to see what I felt during the lockdown in the future. I'm sure you will want to know as well.

I hope you like my 'what to do at home' post. I'm waiting for your comments.

Btw, I'm not fluent in English and I may have grammar mistakes in my posts, please feel free to fix them.
